Bonnie was elected to Parliament in the 2008 general election on October 28 and proudly represents the riding of Mississauga - Streetsville.  She is committed to earning and keeping the trust of her constituents.

Bonnie Crombie is an entrepreneur, passionate community volunteer and resident of Mississauga who brings energy and vision as the Member of Parliament. She understands the diverse needs of Mississauga and is active in improving the economy, health care and child care within our community. Respected for her volunteerism, Bonnie is a key fundraiser for the Credit Valley Hospital and was appointed Vice Chair of the Mississauga Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Taskforce on the Arts. She also sat on the Peel Region’s Police Community Liaison Committee at 11 Division.

Bonnie has an MBA and has worked for Fortune 500 companies; practiced public affairs and was a founding partner of a Canadian start-up. She most recently ran her own consulting practice and served on the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation Board. Bonnie has previously also served on the Boards of the Ontario Brain Injury Association and Arts Umbrella.

Bonnie is the Liberal Critic for Crown Corporations.  She sits on the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and the Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs.  She is also an Associate Member on the Standing Committees on Canadian Heritage, Citizenship and Immigration and International Trade.

As our Member of Parliament, Bonnie is fighting for a strong economy during this recession, stronger Employment Insurance benefits, better healthcare and access to education and childcare.

Bonnie speaks several languages, including French, Polish and Ukrainian.

Bonnie and her husband, Brian, raise their 3 children, Alex, Jonathan and Natasha in Mississauga.
